Fausto is Head of Department (Architecture & Built Environment) at Cardiff School of Art and Design (Cardiff Metropolitan University), where he has established the BA (Hons) Architecture.

His teaching activity has embraced a wide range of modules and degree courses. He has previously taught at the Arts University Bournemouth, Edinburgh Napier University and the University of Genoa.

His research interests revolve around timber architecture, the environmental impact of buildings, mitigation and adaptation strategies to tackle climate change, and thermal performance of the building envelope. 

At SCOSA, Fausto is Chair of the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Working Group.
